YouTube is the best online sharing site for vidoes, and I tend to watch a variety of people. I usually lean toward the geeky, hence my first two choices, but my tastes enjoy many different types.

Here are my my top five favorite YouTubers!

Meg Turney

If I had to pick an idol, I’d pick Meg Turney. She’s smart, insanely nice, a lady nerd, and a kickass journalist. Plus, she’s an amazing cosplayer who inspired me to start cosplaying. Thank you, Meg.

She’s worked at SourceFed, Deviant Art, and she now works at Rooster Teeth, my favorite company.

She produces content on The Know, RT’s news channel, and she does an absolute amazing job from a journalist’s standpoint. I always understand what she’s talking about, she’s a great speaker, and I’m always so impressed with her reporter voice.

If you watch one video by her I highly, extremely recommend Should Video Game Vixens be Heavier? She doesn’t take the skinny-shaming route and instead takes the practical route, which I applauded.

She and Ryan Haywood recently got green-lit for Free Play, a funny show where they do challenge and interview people at Rooster Teeth. Give it a watch!

Her cosplay is stunning. My favorite are her Black Widow and Psycho cosplays.

She recently did a shoot with playboy, has purple hair, and has the kind of confidence I want. She basically emulates my life goals.

SuperMaryFace

If I ever met Mary, I imagine she would be the absolute nicest person in the world. She’s delightfully Australian, a great cosplayer, and not afraid to talk about things she cares about. It’s refreshing.

She makes videos about getting clothes from different websites, her cosplay adventures, cons, and her life in general. I love watching her videos.

She owns everything she does and isn’t afraid to show off, which is a trait I think more people should have.

I love love love her Harley Quinn cosplay. She’s adorable, well spoken, and interacts with her fans on Twitter daily.

When she had her hair dyed warm colors by Guy Tang, she Instagrammed a picture of her in a Hobbit tank from ForHumanPeoples. I loved the tank and tweeted her, asking what size she got so I could compare (Mary has bigger boobs, but we’re about the same in every other regard).

She tweeted me back and was super sweet and helpful. She’s actually tweeted me a few times and it makes me happy on the inside.

Kenny Moffitt

Kenny and I went to the same daycare together, and the same middle and high school. But he’s not on this list because I know him, he’s on this list because of what he does for YouTube.

He works at Buzzfeed making videos and trying on thongs (seriously, here’s the video). He’s insanely talented and I interviewed him for my job. Read the article at Tri-County Times here.

He’s also a vlogger and makes fantastic videos.

When I asked why he started vlogging he said something along the lines of ‘I wanted to document my life’ and I thought that was the best response ever.

He’s also on this list because he does something with his life. Not that I’m not doing something with my life, but so many people talk about doing something amazing with their lives and he’s doing it, working at Buzzfeed. Amazing. Seriously, watch his videos.

Laci Green

Who doesn’t love Laci Green?? People who don’t know they love Laci Green, that’s who. Her approach to feminism is open-minded, factual, and relatable.

She talks about anything and everything sex health related from consent, to the “pop the cherry myth,” to genitalia in general.

I always learn something when I watch her videos.

She’s LBGTQA friendly and explains things very thoroughly, and even made a video on sex with disabilities.

Also, I feel like she’d be a great friend.

Jenna Marbles

Of course, Jenna Marbles is on this list. She’s one of the few who sparked this generation of YouTube-obsessed millennials, and I’ve loved every second of her videos from the first time I saw them my freshmen year of college, over four years ago.

She’s hilarious and dyes her hair extremely fun colors. She’s the person you want to go to a party with, but she’s also the person you want to watch Spiderman or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with. Jenna has an all around badass stature, basically.

Her drunk makeup tutorial will probably always be my favorite.

Sexual Wednesday is as sexual as always with Jenna, and you can enjoy her loveliness here.

These are my top five favorite YouTubers, but I watch a ton of Rooster Teeth, and highly enjoy Arryn Zech, Nikki Limo, Holistichabits, and Ashley Elizabeth. Check them out!

What YouTubers do you watch? Let me know and give me suggestions!
