Grand Rapids Comic-Con 2015 (also known as the time I almost fell off a TaunTaun as Daenerys and flashed everyone), served an important purpose as the third con I've been to, and first I've cosplayed at.

Loot Crate first arrived in my mailbox in April with the FANTASY themed crate. I played queen for a day with the crown, filled the direwolf flash drive in a few weeks, put the Game of Thrones magnets up that day, and I simply adore the bowtie. April was a great month for nerds willing to spend money for a box of mystery items.
July's HEROES 2 crate did not disappoint. Here's my Motor City Comic-Con Day 2 video! It was amazing. I met R2-D2, followed a Dalek, went to The Walking Dead panel, and interviewed Chad Coleman afterword. He is a very nice human being. Read my interview with him and watch the panel here. Let me know what you think of my video! I think the word "comic-con" should by synonymous with "freaking inspiring" because every time I got to a comic-con, I spend the next week daydreaming about the characters and stories that cosplayers brought to life, and how inspired those people are to put so much effort into a costume.
That was probably the longest lead I've ever written, but it goes well with the topic of Motor City Comic-Con and geek culture in general. |
